A Note From The President

As this year’s Moappa president I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended this year’s Moappa meeting. It was our pleasure to host this years meeting and I hope everyone left the meeting with something of value. Moappa is a great chance to build and maintain relationships with others that are important to us all. The more you commit to maintaining relationships with others the larger the payoff in terms of commitment, motivation and support. APPA values states “Collaboration is achieved through networking, information sharing, celebrating achievements, and creating meaningful connections among all members.”  The payoffs are endless.

Of course, my special thanks go out to the sponsors and business partners who made this all possible. I have acquired a new appreciation for all their support. Without these outstanding people, who support us with their knowledge, skills and funding, we could not have the conference or conferences that we do year after year. To be more specific these meetings would be next to impossible. I heard countless compliments about this years meeting. I enthusiastically say THANK YOU to everyone, especially the sponsors and business partners. I really appreciate each and every one of you. I strongly encourage each and every one of you to get to know your business partners, find time to make those contacts, read the material you received and seriously think about how you can use these new ideas at you University.

MOAPPA is a great organization because of the people and their support. I look forward to next years meeting at the University of Missouri-Rolla

Moappa President, 2009

Welcome to the new home for MOAPPA!

Welcome to the new web page for the Missouri Association of Physical Plant Administrators (MOAPPA). This web page was designed to help you discover ideas, technology, and new methods to assist you in your job associated with being a Facilities Management professional. MOAPPA’S mission, along with APPA’S, is to support educational excellence through quality leadership and professional management. This is accomplished by providing members with the best in professional resources and development including this brand new web page, along with an annual meeting and conference.

You can make your University better by attending the annual meeting, being active, and serving. One thing I have learned from being involved in this organization is that you have an extensive amount of resources to call upon. Each one of us has something to give, something to share, and something to help make MOAPPA a better organization. Take advantage of the opportunity not only to learn and share, but to network with other Facility Management professionals. We owe it to our schools to pursue networking with our facilities managers in our educational industry. It can be extremely beneficial to you and to your school. I have found the rewards far out weigh the negatives.

Another great reason to attend the meetings is the lasting friendships you will make with other people in the same field as you are. I have met not only other Facility Management professionals, but business partners as well. Without the business partners, there would not be a MOAPPA organization. Get to know your business partners, their products, their technology, and their equipment. You will personally benefit you and your school with your association with these people by becoming more effective in your job.

Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank Terry Major for being the force behind putting together this web page. It can only enhance the opportunies we have to better ourselves through the MOAPPA organization. If I can be of any help to you please contact me. I look forward to serving you as your MOAPPA secretary/treasurer.
